Our Manufacturers undertake testing on all equipment and provide weather specifications for each size and type of structure. They each have a maximum wind speed they can withstand, are waterproof, and in the case of snow we follow the advice to either brush it off or heat the marquee to cause it to melt.

Tips for increasing the sturdiness of your marquee

What we do to increase the sturdiness of our marquees:

• Ensure the marquee is carefully anchored, at multiple points – it should be held down using stakes or ground anchors (common anchoring weights include sandbags), weights or bolts. Additional stakes can be added, and doing so at an angle is a great way to further secure the tent. In sandy soil, specialist screw down anchors can be used.
• Fix the marquee to a sturdy structure – such as a fence.
• Conduct a full risk assessment and monitor the weather conditions – this should include inspecting the conditions of the soil, and how exposed the site is to prevailing winds.
• Check the wind rating of your marquee – the higher the wind rating, the more wind resistant it is.
• We invest in high-quality marquees – these are usually made from more durable, high-strength fabrics.
• Ensure that all marquees are built following the manufacturer’s instructions so that they are properly sealed against the weather.
• Pitch the marquee correctly to prevent any rainwater from pooling on or around the structure.
• Install sidewalls around the marquee, these add an extra layer of protection against the elements.
